Welcome to Cadott, Wisconsin, located half-way between the equator and the north pole. Cadott was named after Jean Baptiste Cadotte, the son of a fur trader who settled in the area. Whether you are considering a weekend visit or relocating, you will enjoy the recreational opportunities of the area. More than 300 lakes in Chippewa County will keep you busy searching for that exclusive musky or basking in a bay on a lazy summer afternoon.
Cadott: a nice place to live or visit and a great place to raise a family or build a business!
To the Members of the Cadott Chamber of Commerce:
The annual meeting of the Board of Directors was conducted last week. During the meeting, our President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Parade Coordinator resigned from the Chamber of Commerce.
For some time, the Chamber of Commerce has been working with only a few active members to conduct business, planning the Cadott Nabors Days and much business in town. The resources for commitment to the Chamber from volunteers has been limited and even stifling to the progress of our Chamber. It has been suggested by non-members that perhaps we are overworked and unable to function with our tasks at hand. This point is true, however, most non-members are unwilling to commit their time to help the chamber make progress. Therefore, the chamber has done the best they could with limited people involved and resources.
In the face of the current resignations and lack of active members, the consensus with the Board of Directors was to Dissolve the Chamber of Commerce. We have voted to no longer have a Cadott Chamber of Commerce and money to be distributed to local non-profits to benefit the local community.
With this motion, the Cadott Chamber will not be planning the formal Nabor Days celebration on July 28-30. The community is welcome to come together to carry on the duties of Cadott Nabor Days and other events and work with the Cadott Lions (Concessions) and Cadott Fire Department (Mud Bog) with much success.
We are saddened and deflated with our resignations, however, let the successful events of the past be what the chamber did best for the community.
The annual Booya Days celebration will still be conducted under the Booya Day Committee which is being planned for September 23rd.
Most of all dear member, thank you. Thank you for your membership, your sponsorship and your time volunteering to such a great organization.
The Cadott Area Chamber of Commerce will be the recognized leader of the business community by providing value through member benefits, quality programs and political leadership resulting in a solid return on investment for our members.
