Cadott Chiropractor : Dr. Shawn Kromrey
Dr. Shawn Kromrey
Hi! I’m Shawn Kromrey, better known around Cadott as “Doc”.
My Path to a Career in Chiropractic
“I was in eighth grade when I hurt my back snowmobiling. I went to the local chiropractor and his care brought me immediate relief.”
“Around the same time my father lost his job, and I decided then and there that I didn’t want to work for anyone else. I wanted to be my own boss. That, coupled with my sister’s encouragement to become a chiropractor and my desire to help people, set me on a path to pursue chiropractic as a profession at the age of 14.”
From High School to Chiropractic College
I chose high school courses that would benefit me in chiropractic school and completed my undergraduate degree in two years. Then I enrolled at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Achieving Goals, Opening Kromrey Chiropractic
Throughout his time at Northwestern, various advisors told Dr. Shawn he wouldn’t make it to the end. He struggled in school, but worked hard and graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the age of 23. “What a sense of accomplishment! By the time I was 24, I had achieved my goal of opening my own practice.”
“When I started my practice in Cadott in 1989, most people in the area were unaware of or skeptical about chiropractic care. Over the years, the practice has grown and I’ve been able to see over 20,000 patients.”
I Love When My Patients “Get It”
It’s wonderful when patients experience and realize that chiropractic is not just for pain relief; it can prevent certain health problems and bring long-term wellness benefits, too. More than half of our patients realize the wellness benefits and have been coming to us for over 15 years.

“When I’m working, my patients, their problems and outcomes often consume me. My wife is the hub that keeps the family going. That’s why family vacations are such a big deal for all of us. It’s a chance for us to get away from everything and just spend time together.”
“We have three kids, all involved in sports. Our eldest son is a high school football player and the family often spends Friday nights watching varsity football. Our daughters are very active and enjoy playing a variety of sports like basketball, volleyball and soccer. On Sundays we cheer for the Packers!”
After all is said and done, Dr. Shawn still loves to go snowmobiling.

My Path to a Career in Chiropractic
Since I was five I have known I wanted to be a doctor. I didn’t know what specific type of doctor, but I knew I wanted to help people feel well. When I was a junior in high school, my dad gave me an ultimatum: work with him in the concrete business or I go off to college for a career.
It didn’t take me long to figure out. I knew what a hard worker my dad was and how much he put his body through. The only person that helped him heal from all the wear and tear and stress he put on his body was his chiropractor. The impact his chiropractor had on his health was unbelievable and I wanted to have that same effect on the lives of others. I love to learn and I knew with a profession in chiropractic I would be learning something new every day.
High School to chiropractic college
I graduated from Flambeau High School in Tony, WI. After graduation I went on to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Human Performance. After graduating in 2010 I went on to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, graduating with my Doctorate of Chiropractic in November of 2014.
I am a small town girl with a love of the outdoors. I am very close with my family and fiancé, Shawn, and spend as much time with them as possible. I also race snocross and ATV motocross whenever I have the opportunity.
